Flemish

I’ve never heard on Ozzie say he speaks Australian. Nor have I heard a Chilean he speaks Chilean. For that matter I’ve never heard any Canadian say he speaks Canadian or Québeqois (is that how you write it?).
Nonetheless I hear numerous Flems on holidays mention they speak Flemish. Weird people if you ask me!

    There ìs a difference to your Google searches and what you hear when meeting people on holiday. I should have been clearer and should’ve said that I’ve never heard Chileans insist that their language is chilean rather than spanish (same for ozzies and québecois, although the last example is statistically very irrelevant).
    I have, on numerous occasions, heard flemish respond “No, I speak flemish” when asked if they spoke dutch.
